MegaPatch© was first created as an oil spot repair for fast food franchises in 1997. A 20 year patent was issued in 1998 for our polymer based pothole material. In 2007, we commited to create a durable, non- bituminous, pothole repair material using the same base polymers as in the oil spot repair product. The original formula was a success but had a defect, it took too long to dry for traffic.
 In 2012, we introduced a chemical into the formula that would significantly accelerate the polymer composite drying time, to allow immediate traffic. The new formulation was tested in various conditions for a period of five years to assure that the product would last through the 5 year warranty period. We tested MegaPatch© in the worst conditions possible, including Canada’s below zero temperature, heavy construction zones in Mississippi, and on a Mississippi road that floods every winter (see photo below). As a result of the success of these tests, we formed MegaPatch© Industries LLC.
We then created “Mega-Pro”, a mobile mixing system that would allow MegaPatchpp to be jobsite mixed in large quantities. In early 2017 we applied for patent protection on the formula, the application process, and the application system. The system is designed for large or small volume production, and can produce in excess of 100 filled potholes per day with a 4 man crew. It can also be used for small applications using a two man crew. The end result is MegaPatch©, the only pothole patch material that is so durable it has a life expectancy of up to 10 years and a life cycle cost analysis that saves a city many thousands of dollars during its warranty period. MegaPatch© is the result of years of common sense engineering to produce a true alternative to bitiminous infrastructure repair.
